Low-Shedding Cat Breeds
Cat breeds that shed less hair around the home — and why low shedding is not the same as hypoallergenic.
These breeds leave less hair on your sofa, usually because they have short, fine coats, single coats without a dense undercoat, curly coats or no coat at all. Low shedding is not the same as allergy-friendly: cat allergies are caused mainly by a protein in saliva and skin (Fel d 1), not hair itself. See cat breeds for allergy sufferers.
